Early Summer in Shikoku

July 6, 2018January 23, 2019 jsukigara

Shikoku is the smallest island located southwest of Japan. The beginnings of May, Japanese people enjoy one week national holidays at the most fresh and comfortable early Summer. The highest mountains in Shikoku are Ishizuchisan (1,982m) and Tsurugisan (1,955m). Lots of hikers and families climb and walk around these mountains with refreshing and fun. Shikoku is also very famous for a pilgrimage to the 88 temples. The 88 temples are all sacred, splendid and historic, then people in Shikoku are very kind for all of the walking pilgrims. What a wonderful culture in Shikoku ! (2018 early May)
